An Event In Conjunction With The Malaysia F1 – 20 March

There will be a hive of activities in Klang Valley on the weekend of 19th – 21st Mar as the world hottest F1 race takes place at Sepang Circuit. On the afternoon of 20 Mar the final qualifying will end around 3pm. Race drivers, officials and spectators will beat a retreat to the city center to celebrate or let out their frustration at their favorite waterholes. How about those who do not fancy pub-crawling but would rather enjoy an evening drive into the wilderness. Well 2DC has something in store for you. Read on

From the Golf Course Cafeteria of the sprawling Bukit Jelutong, to be designated as the meeting point, a stone throw from the magnificent Blue Mosque of Shah Alam, the capital city of Selangor, an hour’s drive in the north west direction will take you to the historic town of Kuala Selangor. A short drive up Bukit Melawati, the famous fortress hill, legacy of the British troops, you can have a panoramic view of the Straits of Malacca. A dozen canons guarded the waterways. The landmark here is a lighthouse. Unfortunately the beautiful keeper’s daughter does not live here anymore. But do not despair; hundred of black, long tailed, white face Silver Leaf Monkeys ruled this hill. Do not forget to wind up your car windows and tops up, as the monkeys are known to be great explorers. You can also see the infamous stone tablet where Japanese troops beheaded convicts and traitors.

As the red sun is about to dip into the horizon a ten-minute drive takes us to a seafood restaurant on a thousand stilts by the seaside. Sumptuous seafood is served here. Eat all you want for a couple of tenners per head. Dinner done a twenty minutes drive takes you to Bukit Belimbing, home to millions of Fire Flies

Along the Firefly Resort you will never cease to be amazed with the world’s most promoted fireflies park. These tiny wasp-like insects inhibit around the branches of the Berembang trees along the riverbank. A romantic boat ride along the Selangor River you can listen to the spectacular symphonic harmony of these fireflies while viewing their luminous flashes that they transmit. This is a truly magnificent sight to the beholder. It is said that the flies emit the light to attract males for a night of love. (take heed when your wife brings a torchlight into your bedroom)
